Scammers are contacting people in Nottinghamshire on the telephone and pretending to be Police Officers or bank staff. They are telling people that their assistance is needed with some kind of investigation and that they need to go to the bank to withdraw a substantial amount of cash. As you may have heard the Tour De Britain is coming through North & South Wheatley on Wednesday 6th September - stage 4. We do not yet know what time the stage will pass through the village or which roads will be closed and when but will post an update once we know.
